The National Center on Early Childhood Quality Assurance (ECQA Center) is happy to announce that we have published an updated QRIS Resource Guide.

The QRIS Resource Guide is a tool for states and communities to use to explore key issues and decision points during the planning and implementation of a quality rating and improvement system (QRIS).

Each section of the QRIS Resource Guide has updated content, links to resources, and state and territory examples. The sections are about the key elements for a successful QRIS and/or quality improvement initiative:

  • Initial design process,
  • Approaches to implementation,
  • Standards and criteria,
  • Quality assurance and monitoring,
  • Provider incentives and support,
  • Data collection and evaluation,
  • Cost projections and financing, and
  • Consumer education.
